Day 20

Math
We continued working on number sentences. We worked in our workbooks on four number sentences. A few of them were subtraction sentences so we  made sure to put an X on it to take away. I drew a few of them on the board so students could have a better look.

Daily Five
There was no French today so we had daily five after math. The students had a choice to read a book, work in their printing booklets or cursive workbook. After we had Adam present his picture of a special person in his life! He talked about his mom and students asked him some questions about his picture.

Agenda:

  • Spelling test Thursday
  • Spelling sentences due Thursday
  • International Day Thursday

Gym
After first lunch and recess the students had gym with Ms. Yustin. You can check out her blog at http://sjaayustin.blogspot.com

Music
The students had music with Mr. Flower. You can check out his blog at http://flowermusicsja.blogspot.com

Language
We talked about what a journal entry needs. We started off talking about sentence starters and I wrote some on the board. I told the students when you write a journal entry you write today's date and below write the name of your topic. Next I explained to them they have three sentences in their journal entry. The intro, body, and conclusion also known as the first sentence, second, and third sentence. We looked at the sentence starters on the board and we figured out what words belonged with each sentence. After we did that we created a journal entry together! We chose the topic of morning routines!

International Day Prep
Today we worked on our poster board for international day! I got the students to cut and paste their information they researched on our board. I also had them cut and paste pictures they have brought in. I am not going to show you the finish product until October 4th when you can come in and take a look from 2:30-3:15pm!
