Math
We are continuing number sentences today! We worked in our math workbooks where we used snap cubes to help us fill in our number sentences. The first one there were 6 white cubes and then 9 gray cubes. I asked the students to count how many we had in total. We got 15 snap cubes in total. So I told them  we have 6 white cubes and 9 gray altogether equals 15 snap cubes! I wrote on the board 6+9=15. I asked the class if they could think of another way we can write this number sentence. I told them to always flip the first two numbers to get a different addition number sentence.

We then went on to subtraction. I told the students any time your doing a subtraction number sentence you always write the bigger number first so I put on the board 15-6=9. I asked the students if they could think of another way to write this number sentence. I told them that when doing a subtraction number sentence to flip the last two numbers of the sentence. I asked if we flip the 6 and the 9 what do we get. Students were able to come up with 15-9=6. We went on to do do two other questions in our workbook. We will continue number sentences tomorrow.

Unit of Inquiry
In the children's agenda bag will be summative expectation for our first unit. Please take a look at the requirements for this project. They are to use what they have learnt in our unit about rules, relationships and responsibilities. We are asking this to be a child project with little assistance from parents.

I talked with the students about the project and that they are to create a game with their own set of rules and a name for it. I said that they had to have at least 5 rules for their game. We had some time to brainstorm some ideas for their games today.
