Every Friday there will be a spelling test for the words of the week. Every Monday students will bring the words home in their agendas. They will also bring their green spelling words journal home. In the journal the students are to write each of their spelling words in a sentence. The journal will be due back on Fridays.

We started the day off with reading buddies! Students were paired with someone from Mr. Conte's grade five class. The students had a lot of fun with their reading buddies! They will meet with them every day three this school year. When reading buddies finished, students worked together to put the books back on our book shelf.
French

Math
We worked in our workbooks today. We made a pattern of with 3 blue, 6 green, and 6 red shapes. The students got into groups and worked together to create a pattern with all the shapes! The attributes used in the pattern were colour and shape.

The Welcome Back BBQ is this Thursday September 20th! For all of you who sent in their orders forms and money I will see you there!
The students will have a spelling test and math test this Friday. We will be reviewing for our math test all week.

Inquiry into Language
Students wrote down their new spelling words for the week! After we worked in our spelling workbooks! Most of the words start with h,m,p,or s. When they were done with their workbooks I got the students to work on their printing with some worksheets to help spell letter and words!
Unit of Inquiry
Today we talked about what goals are! We went on to talk about short term and long term goals. Next I wrote on the board examples the students had for short and long term goals. The students wrote in their writing journals what their short and long term goals are.
Daily Five!
After the students finished their unit of inquiry I let them have some daily five time. Some students read to themselves while one student wanted to read to me! It was a pleasant surprise!
