Math
We played a game called What's in the Bank? Students used their erasers as playing pieces to use on the piggy banks. They would roll a die and whatever number they landed on they would move their eraser to the piggy bank and identify the amount on it. They would have to find the exact amount on the game board and cover the space. Whoever got 4 in a row won the game!! I gave the students different levels of the game to challenge them. They had a lot of fun!

French
Next we had French with Mlle Jessica! You can check out her blog at http://mllehousja.blogspot.com/

Daily Five
Today we read a new book that I got called Lily Lee and the enormous, gigantic, humongous lollipop. The story was about a girl named Lily who was quite small and very shy. Her grandmother gave her this enormous, gigantic, humongous lollipop and she began to have confidence and was also brave. She thought the lollipop was magic but eventually at the end she realized it wasn't the lollipop. The magic came from her. A lot of the students related to how Lilly felt in the beginning and we made promises to try and do things that make us scared such as talking aloud with a number of people, going on roller coasters, and making new friends!

Gym
After first lunch and recess the students had gym with Ms. Yustin. You can check out her blog at http://sjaayustin.blogspot.com

Music
The students had music with Mr. Flower. You can check out his blog at http://flowermusicsja.blogspot.com

Inquiry into Language
Students wrote down their new spelling words this week and worked in their spelling workbook. In their workbooks they worked on putting in missing letters from their spelling words, finding spelling words that rhyme with other words, and reading descriptions that describe their spelling words.

Unit of Inquiry
Today we started self-evaluations from our dinosaur presentations last week. I got students to reflect and think about how they showed that they were an inquirer, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and curious during their projects.
