Math
In math we reviewed ten frames, how many groups of ten there are and what is left over. The students played a game called Where's the ten frame?! I put different ten frames all over the classroom and the students had to count how many black dots there were in total inside the ten frames. Next they had to find the number that matched. So if a student counted 15 in the ten frames they had to find the number 15 written down in the class to match it. I split the class into two teams. Whichever team had the most matches, that were correct, would get three stickers on their focus sticker chart! Before the game I reviewed what a ten frame looks like. I went on to what a group of ten looks like. I told them that a group of ten is one ten frame that is completely filled. I told them that if you see ten dots in the ten frame that is one group. After I went on to talk about left overs. I told them that left overs are ten frames that are not completely filled. So if I had one group of ten and the other ten frame had only three filled in, then there would be three left over. The students really had fun with the game today!

Earlier in the day we finished drawing and colouring our dinosaurs with our different features ( head, tail, spikes, etc.). The students were very creative doing them!
At the end of the day, we created a dinosaur today that was composed of only fossils!! Students had a sheet of fossils for a dinosaur and cut them out. Next we talked about which fossil goes where and after the students glued the fossils on construction paper!
