We started off the day completing our most important rule poster! Everyone picked the most important rule to them, wrote the rule on construction paper, and drew a picture to go with it. The kids did a great job!

We continued with patterns today! I gave students 6 green triangles and 9 orange squares. We all sat at the carpet and tried to figure out how we could do it. We finally created a pattern with all the shapes! I had the students work in their math workbook and they drew the same pattern we did on the carpet!

Inquiry into Language
We talked about sentence structure and what we need in a proper sentence. We went over punctuation, where does periods and question marks go. We also discussed capitalization, lower and uppercase letters. The students know that when a sentence starts with what, when, why, where, and how.

Agenda
The students will have their spelling test on Friday. Their spelling sentences are due Friday as well. Make sure they write one sentence for each word and that they write it in their green journal that I put in their green courier.

Unit of Inquiry
Continuing with our unit of rules we played a game! I got students to pass the ball in a circle to their classmates and made a rule they had to follow. I told them to pass the ball to someone while touching their nose. Next a student came up with a rule to pass the ball while holding their hand on their head. The last rule in the game was that they had to bend their knees while passing the ball. The kids definitely had fun!
