- Start wearing winter uniforms
Just as a reminder that winter uniforms have started and students need to be wearing their long sleeve shirts.
After students finished their agendas I got them to choose a book to read. I walked over to different students helping them with their reading.
French

Math
We worked on estimating and groups of 10 today!! I poured beans on the carpet and I asked the students to make an estimate as to how many beans were on the floor. Students wrote their estimates down in their math workbooks. I asked the students how could we find out the number of beans we have? They said by counting. I asked if anyone counted by tens before. Some raised their hands. I asked one student to show me how they count by tens. She said 10, 20, 30,40, 50,60, 70, 80, 90, 100! I said yes that is correct! I told students we are going to group the beans into 10!
I started the first group and counted till I got to 10 and I the students counted the rest of the beans into 10. Once we were done counting I asked how many groups of 10 did we have? I told the students to count each group! We got 9 groups of 10! We all counted each group like earlier and we got to 90!Then I asked them if we had any beans that were not in a group of 10? They saw we had 3 extra beans and I said we have to count these as well to know how many beans we have. We said 91, 92, and then 93! We had 93 beans on the carpet!
After I got the class to draw the beans into groups of 10 in their math workbook. A lot of students circled each group of 10 and after drew 3 beans to show what was left over.
Gym

Inquiry into Language
We had our spelling test today. I have them graded and put it in the students agendas for you to look at. Please sign or initial them and bring them back next week. The words for next week will be on my blog later on today if you like to start looking at them. After we worked on skip counting by two's, three's, and five's!
Unit of Inquiry
We continued with our summative projects today!! More students presented their game and they did a great job!! T|he students had a lot of fun playing the game.
