I hope everyone had a great summer!
Language - I took the students on a tour around the school and after we came back and talked about our school rules and responsibilities. We all read a school pledge and stamped our fingers on it to show that we will try and stick to the words in the pledge.
Math - To get an idea of students prior knowledge of sorting and patterning. We played different
sorting and patterning games in class. I had the some children line up in a line and I told other students to get fifth, sixth, and first in line. I also sorted students by their birthday months. We also made patterns with blocks and cubes.

Unit of Inquiry - Our first unit of inquiry this school year is rules and responsibilities. We had a class discussion about what these words mean. Next we talked about our responsibilities in the classroom and created our essential agreement.Students worked together to think of responsibilities we can all do when we are in class. After everyone signed it!
We wrote in our Agendas:
- Students are asked to wear their house colours on Friday
- Welcome Back BBQ
- Sign up for Kinderlime if you haven't already

Forms will be sent home with agendas
Also parents please bring in Student Handbook signatures.
We ended our day with a Neophyte Assembly where selected students played house games. The kids had a great time!
